Crossroads Church - Douglasville, GA

Crossroads Church in Douglasville, GA had a problem. They were a young church that was already bursting at the seams. With seating capacity around 550, they were experiencing crowds of over 1000 every weekend. That wasn't the problem.

The church leadership had committed to excellence in every aspect of their corporate worship. They wanted everything they did to be the best it could possibly be. It was a challenge that was bringing wonderful results. That wasn't the problem either.

When you combined these two elements, it illuminated the problem. The AVL (audio/visual/lighting) system was not getting the job done. They had very good equipment. The previous install included JBL VRX line array loudspeakers, QSC Amplifiers, Ashley Processing and a host of other top dollar equipment. The problem was that it was not designed or engineered with the facility in mind. As we did our initial analysis, we discovered a 21dB SPL variation in the seating areas. This is a drastic difference and way out of acceptable standards.

The leadership at Crossroads Church approached the issue with a prayerful attitude and humility. They readily admitted that they were not experts on AVL systems. They felt they needed to find a company that they were comfortable working with, one that they could trust. Then they planned to simply follow their recommendations. They settled on Moyers. It was our job to make sure we listened to their vision and goals for the church so that we could install systems that would meet and surpass their expectations.

In September 2008, the work began. Utilizing the Ease 4.1 Acoustic modeling program and Meyer Sounds MAPP programs we were able to design three different systems. Each system was custom tailored for Crossroads Church's facility and style of service. Each system came in at different price points. Great equipment does not always constitute a great system. We wanted to offer three options, each of which could handle the facility.

In the end, it was the standard of excellence that made the decision. The choice was to upgrade to Meyer Sound Loudspeakers throughout their facility.
